When the sun has set
and the burdens are lifted
from the shoulders of souls
broken down and neglected,
and the specters of ghosts,
grown and worn out humans
dissolved into mirages
and smokescreen illusions arise,
by their confessions will they be known,

by our transgressions humanity is scorned
but we’re all children of Her,
extensions, born out of this surface
and the depths of all history still boiling here beneath it,
as brutal as beautiful, thus, all the more confusing;
yet, perfectly placed is our position here,
so, why are we refusing
this place, this moment, this time?

regardless of impediments,
